We are well underway with calving, with 63 out of 89 cows having calved already. We have 32 Fleckvieh born (1 set of twins), 12 Norwegian Red, 17 Jersey, 3 Hereford and no Angus yet. Now we have enough milkers, our milkers have moved from the main farm’s milking herd, back onto our milking platform in their own separate herd. Our milking herd moved back to the platform on the 12th of August with around 21 cows. They are getting 2kg maize silage and around 13kg of pasture.
We are excited to announce we have two new sponsors for the IHDF- Kemin and Advanced Feed. We look forward to collaborating with them.
Our other exciting news for August is that the IHDF was interviewed by the NZ Herald this month.
